Youth Team
Malini Singh
Member
Malini is a second-year student studying Child & Youth Studies. Her ambition is to represent the best-interest of children, as they are often under-represented in the family court systems. In 2020, she joined the Diverse Student Association to promote culture recognition throughout her school. In 2022, she joined the Dufferin County Multicultural Foundation (DCMF), as her passion for cultural representation had begun to grow exponentially. She took a great amount of inspiration from this group at school and was blessed with the opportunity to become a volunteer of the DCMF. Because she is trained in Kathak, Bharatanatyam and Bollywood (Indian classical dances), volunteering with the DCMF has provided her with a great opportunity to perform dances while also promoting cultural outreach. Culture is a beautiful concept that is yet to be celebrated fully, and her biggest hope is to encourage as many people as possible to feel proud of and display their culture. She looks forward to all of the great opportunities that come with being a part of this group!

Hemani Singh, is aspire to have a career in welding. She joined the Diverse Student Association at my school, as a way to help students share and promote their culture in our community. With this experience, I have joined the Dufferin County Multicultural Foundation in 2022 to further encourage youth to proudly share their culture with the community. Volunteering with this foundation has opened up different ways to explore different cultures throughout the world. Since the age of ten, she has been dancing Bharatanatyam and Kathak, and showcasing her culture for others has been an amazing experience for her. She hopes that presenting her culture to others will inspire them to share their own as well.
