2021 Shelburne Multicultural Day Event - Virtual 

This year’s event is virtual, being held on Sunday June 27th at 1:00PM via Dufferin County’s YouTube channel.

Our Panelists include:

All hosted by the Founder of Shelburne’s Multicultural Event, Althea Alli and the Museum of Dufferin.

About the Award

June 27 is Canadian Multiculturalism Day. It’s a day marked to celebrate and reflect on both the contributions of numerous cultural communities and the values that we all share.

The idea is to highlight those in the community who have helped shape a more inclusive community, who have actively worked to create equal opportunities, and who have the common goal to achieve an inclusive, supportive, and diverse community where we all can thrive, and who understand that diversity is our strength.

The committee is seeking public nominations for residents, businesses and organizations that satisfy the following criteria:

Eligibility

  1. Dufferin County or Caledon resident

  2. Works in Dufferin County or Caledon

 

Category

  1. Youth under 24

  2. 24+

  3. Businesses

  4. Organizations

Criteria

  1. Embraces differences, diversity and linguistic duality​

  2. Leads by example through volunteering personal time and or working within the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion field to foster an environment that is conducive to empowerment, engagement and commitment

  3. Demonstrates outstanding commitment to insure that the community is inclusive, respectful and welcoming for all through involvement in various activities, events, and boards of management.
